While summer in Florida is still alive and true in the end days of season Summer, the beach never really goes away. Perhaps it becomes less busy, but it will always be there. And surely sometimes the local may get tired of it. So the question is, what do the locals do when they get tired of all the sand? Well, check out these two events for a taste of the mainland.
Ask the Curator: Edison
Ask the Curator! Join again for the Ask the Curator Event on September 25, 2019, as Lead Historian, Eric Kahler, shares wisdom on what he knows about Edison. Edison, for lack of a better phrase, was a genius of his time. Edison’s inventions and discoveries lay down the foundation of many modern science creations that we all use on a daily basis today. However, words simply do not do his contributions to justice. It is best to check out the invention and understand the history for yourself at this Ask the Curator Event.
Cliff Eberhardt
Award Winner. Veteran. Songwriter. Cliff Eberhardt. Cliff comes to Fort Myers on October 5, 2019, for a feature at The ACMA Listening Room. Joining him is special guest Americana songwriter Louise Mosrie to open the floor. Eberhardt focuses through a mix of both pop and blues tunes that can connect with any member in the audience. Tickets are from $10-15 for a 7:00 PM show.

Being at Fort Myers for a visit, unlike the locals, you are likely there for the sand and beaches. Luckily the Best Western Plus Beach Resort is an on-the-sand hotel that faces the ocean so that every guest can get their fill of the amazing Florida beaches. And when you’ve gotten sick of the sand (which is likely never), you can retreat into your room whether it be a standard room, a mini-suite, or a full-sized suite. The choice is yours.
