BackRing in 2020 in Fort Myers: what to do on New Years Eve

New Year’s Eve is approaching fast and people are already making plans for how they’ll welcome 2020 and bid farewell to 2019! There are plenty of events happening around Fort Myers this New Year’s Eve, so whether you’re partying with friends or entertaining little ones, there is something for everyone.
If you’re after a classic New Year’s Eve experience, just head to downtown Fort Myers for a great night out! Grab a bite or a drink at one of the many great restaurants and bars and then stick around for the annual countdown and fireworks. The streets will be lined with live musicians, special food vendors and food trucks, and more! There will also be four stages with live bands and DJ’s and more free fun to be had. Be sure to check out the Ball Drop at midnight at the intersection of Bay street and Hendry street! If you’re ready to party a bit more, there are lots of bars and clubs in the area hosting awesome New Year’s Eve bashes where you can get your groove on.
You can also celebrate the New Year on the water with a variety of NYE cruises where you can welcome the new year from the water. One cruise to check out is the Pure Fort Myers River Cruise. Board the boat at 4:30 pm at The Marina at Edison Ford, which will cruise along the Caloosahatchee River as the sun goes down. You’ll get a chance to learn about the ecology of the area from the captain, who will share some fun information about the local waterways, the surrounding environment, and their histories. You may even get a chance to spot some wild dolphins, eagles, manatees, and more! You’ll be back at The Marina in time to hang out downtown and experience the Downtown Countdown and the fireworks! All ages are welcome, with tickets starting at $35 for adults and $17.50 for children. If this doesn’t strike your fancy, there will be many other waterside events to get your new year started right!
