Upcoming Outdoor Events In Fort Myers

With a warm climate, sandy beaches, and gorgeous blue waters, Fort Myers sure is a beauty. What better way to enjoy it than spending time outside? There are plenty of great outdoor events happening around town this spring, so if you’re visiting us this season and are itching to explore while experiencing the city, be sure to check some of these out. Book your stay with us here at BEST WESTERN PLUS Beach Resort Hotel to make the most of it all. With our comfortable accommodations and fabulous on-site amenities, we offer all the conveniences you’ve come to expect from Best Western, alongside the luxuries of a beach resort.

Fort Myers Beach Festival

Attention all independent film fans visiting Fort Myers this spring: how does spending five days on the beach enjoying compelling movies, exchanging ideas, and meeting like-minded people? The Fort Myers Beach Film Festival is back again for its 10th annual year, running from April 20 to April 24 with events for all ages and tastes to choose from. Film submissions from all over the United States are taken, with screenings of the winning films following an awards ceremony closing out the festivities on the Sunday. Most of the screenings will be held all day at Beach Theatre on Estero Boulevard.

Estero Kayak Tours

Accompany a professional biologist/master naturalist through Estero Bay’s mangrove-fringed barrier islands on a gentle glide through protected bay waters. Presented by the Mound House - A Cultural and Environmental Learning Center, participants will see marine live, bird rookeries, learn about how the Calusa Indians called this rich estuarine environment their home prior to the arrival of Spanish explorers, and more. Tours run until April 30.

Guided Beach Walks

Completely free, these one-hour walking tours are offered every Tuesday in April. Participants meet at Newton Park and then explore the natural beauty of Fort Myers Beach through a guided walk along the shore. Bring sunscreen, shoes, and hats.
