Celebrating the Arts in Fort Myers

  • October 23, 2018

Although it doesn’t actually get too cold in the sunshine state, that doesn’t mean we don’t crave some time inside away from the sun and sand. The greater Fort Myers area does not lack in things to do all year ‘round.  Even with the year coming to a close, it seems like many many more things keep getting adding to our list of things to do!

Some Sober Thought: Words with Wine, Poetry Gathering

Enjoy some wine and poetry at PJ Boox. This monthly even is a great way to embed yourself with the locals in a quick and natural way. Although it is a 20 minute drive out from Fort Myers Beach, this more low-key event from 6PM - 9PM on November 21 is well worth the commute. What’s the cost? It’s by donation-- all in support of the continuation of these poetry gatherings. If you have words you would like to express, do so in this safe environment: a tribe of like-minded creatives.

8 Hands, 4 Fellows: The Piano Guys

We’ve all seen them on TV, online, and across all our social media apps: The Piano Guys.  Come catch these awesome fellows at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall on November 27th at 7:30 PM. Their world-renowned musical teamwork is nothing short of awe-inspiring and unbelievable.  The music will be a mix of classical and popular contemporary songs we all (should) know. They’ll do covers and their own originals; you wouldn’t want to miss it.

The Gift of Giving: Festival of Trees 2018

From November 27 through to December 2nd, ring in the holiday spirit with the Festival of Trees of 2018.  With most days being a full day event (varying times), head over to the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center with $2 in your pocket and get admission into this fantastic fundraiser.  Each day there are different events happening; it may be useful to go once or twice during the week-long event. Proceeds go to Goodwill for Southwest Florida and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center.

With all these events being closer to the city center of Fort Myers, choosing to stay the the Best Western Plus Beach Resort Hotel would be the perfect place.  The hotel’s outdoor pool will help you satisfy your lingering summer needs while still being accessible to the events in the city center.
