Catch ‘Em and Cook ‘Em: 3 Dock-to-Dining Experiences in Fort Myers & Sanibel

fish dinner fort myers catch and cook

When it comes it fine dining, nothing tastes better than a fish you’ve caught yourself. Yes, all that hard work hooking a big-one certainly pays off big time when it comes to flavor!

But who in their right mind wants to slave over the stove or do all the dirty dishes? Not us! That’s why we’ve put together this list of three boat-to-table dining opportunities at some of Fort Myers and Sanibel’s best restaurants.

And the best news of all? The talented chefs at these eateries will cook up your catch exactly how you like it. So after a great day’s fishing, you can sit back with a nice glass of white wine, take in the stunning views and enjoy the fruits of your labor – all without a single dirty dish for YOU to wash in sight!

1. Southern Flare
Located on Fort Myers’ Harbour Pointe Drive, Summerlin Jakes brings some sizzling southern flavor to its fish dishes. Have your snapper sautéed and served over rice, or cut into your tender white redfish fillet that’s been panko-fried or lightly blackened to your preference.

2. Lazy Dinners
Grilled, blackened or fried, the Lazy Flamingo will serve up your catch alongside fries and Caesar salad. The eatery has locations in both Fort Myers and Sanibel.

3. Dockside Dinners
It doesn’t get anymore ‘dock to dinner’ than at the Nauti Mermaid Dockside Bar & Grill in Cape Coral, because you can actually step off your boat into the restaurant and pull up a chair. As long as your catch is cleaned, the chef will broil, grill, bake or sear it to your liking.

Soak up some real flavor this summer by booking a stay at the beachfront Best Western on the Beach. When you’re not busy catching your own dinner, you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Gulf of Mexico from your private balcony.
