Get in Touch with Nature in Fort Myers Beach

When you think Fort Myers Beach, you probably think waves lapping on the shore, jaunts out to sea in kayaks and on paddle boards, sunset meanders along white-sanded beaches. You’re absolutely not wrong to associate our beautiful corner of The Sunshine State with these things. Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation

Headquartered on the jaw-droppingly beautiful Sanibel Island, just a short drive from our hotel, you’ll find the Sanibel-Conservation Foundation: an organization dedicated to preserving the region’s ecological beauty. On the foundation grounds, you can enjoy several beautiful walking trails—which cost just $5 to access—as well as a fantastic butterfly house. Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center

Just a 7 minute drive from our cozy hotel, you’ll find the Ostego Bay Foundation’s Marine Science Center. The center is the perfect place to learn a bit about Southwest Florida’s unique ecology and the fascinating natural secrets of our estuary ecosystem. Explore interactive exhibits, a fantastic touch-tank, and an amazing turtle aquarium for an afternoon of educational, family fun that can’t be beat. Learn more on the Center’s website!

Bowditch Point Park

A mere 10 minutes’ walk northwest on Estero Boulevard will take you to beautiful Bowditch Park, which spears out onto San Carlos Bay and offers some truly unbeatable views. The park is also home to several scenic walking trails, in addition to some gorgeous public beaches, complete with benches, grills, and plenty of soft, white sand. And of course, you never know what kind of wildlife you might encounter. It’s a destination absolutely worth checking out—just be sure to apply plenty of sun screen before setting out.
