If you had to describe the upcoming festivals in Fort Myers and Sanibel this year, you may find yourself using the word ‘fresh’ – because this year it’s all about the mangoes and the music. Yes, you heard us right. Just check out this fabulously fresh line-up of events!

It’s all about the Mango
Each July, the humble mango is the star attraction for two days at the MangoMania Tropical Fruit Festival on Pine Island. Go wild for fruit as you sample locally-grown delicacies at this unusual celebration of all the tropical fruit grown on the island, which includes lychee, carambola, longan, papaya, and – wait for it - chocolate pudding fruit.

Fruit, exotic fruit trees, and fruit-related products are available for purchase. In addition to plenty of fruity food and beverages, the event features live music, art and craft vendors, food and recipe contests an activity area for kids and a chance to meet the Mango Queen.

This year’s event takes place on July 15 and 16 at the German-American Social Club.

It’s all about the Music
The 4th annual Island Hopper Songwriter Fest brings music back to the beach from September 22 to October 1, when the festival returns with a range of star-studded performers. The event is presented by BMI, the largest music rights organization in the US, along with iHeartMedia.

This award-winning festival features over 100 live performances from more than 60 songwriters in 20 unique venues! Past performers include Grammy Award winner Maren Morris, Parmalee, and Thompson Square.

This year’s line-up includes Aaron Barker, Bobby Tomberlin and Ashley Gearing. Catch the action at Captiva Island from September 22 to 24; in downtown Fort Myers from September 25 to 28; and at Fort Myers Beach from September 29 to October 1.

Located on a beautifully secluded private beach at the north end of Estero Island, the Best Western Plus Beach Resort is a great option for a Fort Myers Beach getaway. Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, the hotel boasts white-sand shores, crystal blue waters and lush palm trees, all just minutes from the top attractions in Fort Myers Beach.
